ANZAC Assembly at Djidi Djidi
On Tuesday, 29th April, staff and students at Djidi Djidi Primary School came together to hold a special ANZAC Assembly.
Our student prefects led the assembly with great respect and pride, laying the wreath, raising the flags, and observing the playing of the Rouse following the Last Post. A minute’s silence was held in honour of all those who have served.
This year, students from each class had the opportunity to share something they had learned in the lead-up to ANZAC Day, which fell during the school holidays. It was a meaningful way for our learners to reflect on the significance of ANZAC Day and to express their understanding in their own words.
A heartfelt thank you to Mrs Augustson for sharing her family’s personal connection to ANZAC. We loved hearing the story of your grandfather and his faithful horse, Old Bill – it added such a special, personal touch to the occasion.
We also extend our thanks to our wonderful school choir and Mr Kris for their moving performance of the song Kaya – a beautiful contribution to this important event.
