Djidi Djidi at the 2025 Wardandi Gift
Last Thursday, our Year 5 and 6 students joined other schools at the Wardandi Gift in Bunbury. The day was full of fun, learning and culture.
Students took part in Traditional Aboriginal Games, face painting, and helped create a large piece of collaborative sand art. They also enjoyed biscuits decorated with the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander flags.
Our students proudly wore special shirts they helped design, featuring a yongka and Wave Rock. These artworks represented the Ballardong group, as Djidi Djidi was invited to share knowledge about this part of the Noongar Nation. The shirts looked amazing and were a great way for our students to share and celebrate culture.
The Wardandi Gift is a special event where students learn more about Aboriginal culture, connect with others, and feel proud of who they are. Our students had a moorditj day and came back smiling, with lots of stories to share.
Thank you to the organisers, Elders and everyone who helped make it such a special experience.
