Science in Motion at Djidi Djidi!

This morning, we were excited to welcome Amy and Manon, visiting all the way from the Questacon Science and Technology Centre in Canberra. Their travelling science show brought energy, curiosity, and plenty of hands-on fun to our school!

The children really enjoyed seeing Mrs Murphys muscle power.

Our students were captivated by the interactive performance, which explored Newton’s Laws of Motion in an engaging and accessible way. Through exciting demonstrations and audience participation, the children discovered that anyone can be a scientist by following three simple steps: Question, Guess, Test!

This learning experience beautifully complements our ongoing focus on Indigenous ways of knowing and understanding the world around us. Just as modern science encourages curiosity and observation, Aboriginal knowledge systems are deeply rooted in careful watching, listening, and learning from Country over countless generations. Today’s session offered our students a unique opportunity to explore how these perspectives can come together to deepen our understanding of science, nature, and the world we live in.

A big koorda (thank you) to Amy and Manon for sharing their knowledge and inspiring our future scientists!
